DownloadDo Stack

There are two user Macros in this set the first, 'Do Stack wiith Parameters', is almost the standard Do Stack, but with two differences.   First it pauses to let you alter the various parameters used so that you do not need to edit the actual macro to make quick changes just for one run.   The second difference is that the Minimum Island Size is calculated based on the size of the Frames, you can override this by entering 5 in the parameter input dialog.   I have found that as the size of frames increases better results are usually obtained if this parameter is increased, but this is not always the case.   So if there are fuzzy patches without detail in a stacked image try returning this to 5.

There are times when it is necessary to do several trials with different values for a given parameter, the second macro in this set is set up to do this for the Detail parameter.   Just load a stack and run 'Do Stack Detail Tests', this will take a while to run as it tries every value between 5 and 75 for the detail parameter.   The output from these tests is noit stored at the top of the Stack as usual but in a folder called 'Out' which can be found in the same folder as the original Frames.  In here are Depthmaps and Stacked images, the file names of the stacked images have '_D(50)' or something similar on the end, the number is the Depth parameter used to get this result.   The corresponding depthmap has a sequence number one lower than the result.   Once you have found a good value you can use the first macro and enter this number when you wish to process similar stacks.

It is quite easy to modify the second macro, or one of the nested parts, to try sequences of values for a different parameter, say Depthmap smoothing to optimize this for your pictures.
